Six Months In The Big City

Hi everyone,

I know this update is long overdue, but I wanted to finally put it out there. This won’t be as in-depth or analytical as my previous updates. The past three months have been very eventful and, honestly, just a lot. I’ve had some really high moments and some very low ones. I wish I could be as detailed as I usually am, but my blog keeps getting me in trouble, LOL. It’s okay, we ball though.

To begin, I celebrated my birthday here in the city (read that post!), and it was amazing. It was hard celebrating without my family, but I got through it. My friends truly came through for me, and I’m so grateful for them. I always tell people that when I pray and ask God for the things I want, I include genuine, loving friendships, and so far, He has delivered, and I know He will continue to.

Next came Thanksgiving, which was painfully lonely. I didn’t go back home, but my neighbor was kind enough to offer me a plate. I also had a “friend” come over afterward and spend some time with me.

December rolled around, and I went to my very first Broadway show here in New York. My friend surprised me with tickets. I saw the famous Rockefeller tree, the Saks Fifth Avenue light show, and so much more. I even hosted a mini Friendsmas. After that, I went back home to Florida to spend the holidays with my family. I was so excited to be back, I needed that Florida sunshine on my BODY. Of course, I threw on a bikini and ran to the beach the first chance I got.

My cousins and I returned to NYC for New Year’s, and as I always say, a time was HAD. I’m endlessly grateful for them, though I was really sad when they left.

While all of this was happening, my romantic life was… highlighted. I’ll keep those details to myself for now.

Backtracking a bit, October brought its own surprises. My ex came back (yes, the one I wrote about all the time). We talked for a week or two, and then he saw a blog post about him. Long story short, I ended up blocked everywhere. I cried for three days, and once my feelings settled, I realized it was for the best.

My girls and I went out for Halloween, and we had a TIME! A Halloweekend for the books.

I also met someone a bit younger than me, and he was incredibly sweet. He asked me why I liked him, and I told him he reminded me of the pure, innocent love I once desired before the world hardened me.

Then my birthday came, and Waffles returned...which I later found out he NEVER actually left. SHOCKING I KNOW!. We grew close again… iykyk.

And now here we are in January. Happy New Year! I’ve officially been in the city for six months. Time truly flies, and so much has happened in such a short period. This year, I’m putting romance to rest (at least for now) and focusing on my goals. I have a lot I want to accomplish.

I pray this year brings blessings, success, good health, wealth, and happiness for us all.

Until next time,

My June Plums!

For the past couple of months, I've been wondering if I'm the villain. Why? Because four men have blocked me in three months. Now, I'm not the one to care too much about what men do, or say, or their
